Every shipment has a story behind it. At the heart of that story are the drivers who make each mile possible. From navigating daily routes to delivering freight safely and reliably, Dependable’s drivers play an essential role in keeping customers, operations, and supply chains moving.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week provided an opportunity to recognize the people behind that work. It also gave us a chance to reflect on the dedication they bring to the road every day.

The People Behind the Miles

Driving is about more than getting freight from one destination to another. It requires professionalism, focus, adaptability, and a commitment to serving customers along the way. Each route brings its own challenges, and our drivers handle those demands while representing Dependable on the road.

“Every mile we travel is made possible by the dedication and hard work of our truck drivers,” said Michelle Wiggins, Vice President of Transportation. “I’m incredibly grateful for the professionalism, commitment, and pride they bring to the road every day.”

Their work is an important part of the larger operation. They help freight move where it needs to go and support the service our customers rely on.

Putting Appreciation Into Action

During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Dependable took time to recognize those contributions through driver appreciation celebrations across its Southern California locations.

On Wednesday, September 16, drivers at Ontario, Harbor City, and City of Industry were invited to stop by their designated event location, where they could enjoy a meal, pick up appreciation gifts, and spend time connecting with members of the Dependable team.

The celebrations created an opportunity to step away from the normal pace of operations and make recognition the focus of the day. Drivers could also participate in a raffle, adding another way for the team to celebrate and thank the people who keep freight moving.

A Week to Recognize a Year-Round Celebration

While NTDAW provides a dedicated time to celebrate truck drivers, the impact of their work extends throughout the year. Every route, delivery, and customer interaction contributes to the larger movement of goods and the service Dependable provides.

Taking time to recognize drivers during NTDAW is one way to acknowledge that contribution. It also reinforces how much their work is valued. Beyond the freight being moved, Dependable’s operations rely on the experience, commitment, and care of the people behind them.

The week offered a chance for teams to come together, share a meal, connect with drivers, and celebrate the work that happens on the road every day.
