Meeting California standards & greener transportation goals
In 2006, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach (POLA/POLB) initiated the Clean Air Action Plan, which mandated the rapid phase-out of older, higher-polluting trucks. As of January 1, 2012, no truck of model year prior to 2007 may enter the Southern California ports. Port of Oakland has instituted a similar plan, with standards only a year or two behind those in Southern California. Additionally, the state of California has some of the toughest air quality standards, with mandatory retirement of older trucks required annually for all highway use scheduled through 2014 and beyond. As many carriers struggled to meet these challenges, Dependable has emerged as a leader in the industry, rapidly replacing our entire drayage fleet with new, green equipment, including both state-of-the-art LNG (liquefied natural gas) and clean diesel tractors. We will continue to be a market leader with a fleet that exceeds all Port, AQMD, and EPA clean air standards.
When you choose Dependable as your harbor transportation and port drayage carrier, you not only receive our family-owned commitment to personalized customer service excellence, you also can rest assured that you have partnered with a responsible corporation that is committed to improving the environment.
